Y'know what? Jeremy Clarkson is a great TV presenter. But he pushed the limit way too far, assaulted someone, and has paid the price.

And for this, mobs are visiting the BBC in tanks (gotta hand it to the company that rents out the tank, though — best PR stunt they'll ever have).

Kinja'd!!!

And some twat made death threats to the producer who got beaten up and to the head of the Beeb:

Kinja'd!!!

People. It's a show. Oftentimes, a good show. Sometimes, a great show. But Clarkson's just one dude. Shake your collective heads.

Man, people be dumb. Here in the UK we have very strict laws when it comes to threats so I wouldn't be half surprised if the Police decide to step in and make a few examples.

Because internet tough guys. I used to love the show (not so much these days) and used to read Clarksons books from time to time. Despite that I still accept he's a bit of a knob and deserved to be sacked. Plus as I've said many times, the other two will likely follow him to another channel and resume business as usual under a different name.

They can't enforce laws against those outside of their borders.

BBC math decades of pedophile activity goes unpunished but punch one Irish man and you are fired at once

The guy's Twitter account's been disappeared, so I'm guessing he's in a small room right now with someone who looks about like this:

Perhaps the BBC's failings in the Savile affair (for which there's plenty of blame to be spread, for example to the hospitals and facilities that gave him keys and privileged access to victims) have led it to be far more diligent in policing the behaviour of their personalities. It should also be noted that several people were fired as a result of the investigations into the coverups at BBC. Unfortunately for me, I'm an atheist, so the dream of Savile burning in hell for eternity is distinctly unsatisfying. He's one piece of shit who got away with it.

This is what I get. I don't think it is the point you were trying to make unless you just like non-sequitur.

Bromley is a large suburban town, the administrative headquarters of the London Borough of Bromley in Greater London, England. It was historically a market town chartered since 1158 and an ancient parish in the county of Kent

There's little doubt in my mind they'll be working together again soon.

If I punched someone at work I expect to be punished, if i was on a final warning I would expect to be fired. Being famous and popular (which I am neither) should not change this. I'm not sure what these people expected.

So, I think the point is that if you're a UK resident, and by tweeting threats of violence to specific individuals you commit a crime in the UK (for example section 4(1) of the Public Order Act, which makes the use of threats of violence illegal), you might well be arrested and charged.

Same in the US, but the thing is, how do you know where the person commenting is from?

I don't. But his Twitter bio read "Bromley, Kent", and if you google his name, it appears that someone with the same name and face is from Bromley, Kent, and so I'm going to guess that the police are able to determine whether or not he is indeed from Bromley, Kent. But I could be wrong.

One of my old profiles was listed in Seto, Japan, I haven't lived there in 20 years, so there's that....
